We visited Cantinho do Aziz as part of a wonderful culinary tour in Lisbon, and it was one of the highlights of the experience. This place has such a special story – it began as a family business led by talented and determined kids, and over time became a beloved spot that serves authentic, flavorful food with heart. We tried both the chicken and beef samosas, and they were absolutely delicious – crispy, perfectly spiced, and bursting with flavor. The homemade hot sauce is extremely spicy – be careful! My partner loved it and couldn’t stop talking about it. I had a glass of white wine and Alex had a beer – both paired really well with the food. Although it was a warm day and we were sitting outside, the atmosphere was relaxed and the space had a cozy, inviting feel to it. It’s clear that this place has soul – not just in the food, but in the story and the people behind it. We’re already curious to come back on our own, outside of the tour, to explore more of the menu and enjoy a full meal here. Highly recommended if you want a truly local and memorable food experience in Lisbon!

Grains of salt may need to be taken as it’s only my first night in Lisbon, but this spot is a must for a night in the city. I’m here in early November and the vibes were immaculate. Wine and beer is reasonably priced, the outdoor seating allows you to take in the energy of the community without feeling like you’re imposing. I had the prawns curry and it was one of the best curry dishes I’ve had. Make this a part of your itinerary immediately!

(November 2023) It was a rainy evening, our last meal before we take the long trek back to Cali. Boo hoo! Well this one was worth the climax in culinary cuisine. Not exactly the type of place you would think would require a reservation. But our hotel front desk guy who called many other African places listed on Yelp found they were all closed... permanently! (BTW yelp is not used as much as Google). But fortunately he recommended this spot and made us a reservation. Inside isn't big but, pictures show folks eating outside up the street. The food… This was slap my African 12th great great grandma good. I've been on the west coast too long!!! As a former Portuguese colony, the mash up of colonial influence and traditional African cooking blends so prominently and proudly here. I can't wait to try more! The lamb was off the Chain with coriander, curry, black pepper, cinnamon lord knows what else added to the fall of the bone slow cooked entree enough to feed 2 -3 mortals. I ate the whole dam thing! The spicy wings were THE best l've ever eaten. I like flats not drumettes which only one was. I also like em extra crispy so the outside is crunchy to the bone and marrow which dissolve in your mouth as you suck on them. ( oh yeah totally suckable wings is a good thing) with the meat not mushy but fall of the bone firm and full of flavor. The spices were reminiscent of spicy Korean and jerk flavor. So as an end point many folks think Portuguese food is bland lacking depth and spice. Certainly I added spicy hot source or piri pire pretty much for every meal here. I ordered the large beer somewhat regretful because if never finish one. I needed it here! While they certainly offered spicy piri piri, there was enough flavor in the lamb and in the wings all by themselves. I didn't touch it. I wouldn't call Portuguese food bland... rather simple... the seafood certainly shines all by itself crazy fresh lonesome with simple butter or olive oil garlic salt and lemon. All you need But if you like spicy you will definitely want to check this spot out!!! So we finished our Portuguese trip with Portuguese food... kicked up a few notches.

Has its own vibe, we did quite love it, their goat meat is very well served, spicy and all, loved it, the same goes for the wuco chicken, only with a big pinch of peanut if you can't decide or just don't like all the boujey touristey places and you can easily take 2 sets of stairs come here, you won't regret it

The meal was amazing, and Radha was amazing. Not only did she give us great insight on what we should try but we gave us a deep background of the restaurant. We had a lovely experience, thank you Radha!

If you want the food the locals eat, come to Cantinho do Aziz! We came across it with a food tour and immediately returned for more. Radha was wonderful and the food was divine. Samosas, goat, lamb, and seafood! We'll be returning on our next trip, for sure!
